Patent No: US 11,3513,029 B2
Patent No: TR2016/18240 B
International Application No: PCT/TR2017/050610
The surgical treatment of patients diagnosed with Aortic Root Aneurysm (Valve-Sparing Aortic Root Replacement, David Procedure) requires the use of artificial grafts, which must be customized and shaped specifically for the patient. Elibol’s “David Facilitator” is the first and only surgical device designed to enable this patient-specific selection and customization process.
This innovative medical device was initially conceptualized in 2015 and transitioned to the design phase the same year, with a patent application filed in 2016. In 2017, development efforts were undertaken at the Texas A&M University Institute for Preclinical Studies in the United States, where the device's performance was further enhanced. As a result of these advancements, the device was awarded in the oral presentation category at the 2018 Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery Congress.
The device's innovative design and clinical potential have been validated through examined patents granted by the Turkish Patent Institute and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In 2020, it was recognized as an innovative solution for challenging surgical procedures at the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) Congress and showcased on an international platform.
